Beautiful painting - of course, having grown up with this barn and to this day just have to look out my living room window to see it, I am VERY partial to it. Have so many great memories growing up here.
Thank you for the fine work and carrying on the legacy. |

I was delighted to see the Steffen Ranch paintings. My grandmother was Frieda Steffen, sister to Fred and Bill. Their sister, Christine Steffen also homesteaded in the area. Another interesting note was that both brothers were in love with Margaret and that is probably why Bill did not marry.
Thank you for posting your paintings online. |

The exhibition at the Hockaday Museum in Kalispell, Montana was just beautiful. Particularly striking were the paintings accomplished on old barn wood, where the images of forgotten Montanans seem to materialize from the media’s periphery like apparitions from the past. If you’re near Kalispell, spend some time immersed in the images and stories of Ghost Ranches of Montana. |

Dear Jane, Perhaps I will meet you at the Hockaday reception. I am a member of the Hockaday, and also a signature member of the Montana Watercolor Society. My website address is: www.gretchenfinch.com. Along with you, I love ranches and ranch life. These are the subject of much of my painting. You are really an historian, even more than a painter, although you have certainly developed your work in order to be in so many exhibits, galleries, etc. I don't really have time for the promotional aspects of art, and have to squeeze painting time in between other commitments. However, I do love to paint. I would enjoy hearing from you after you view my website. All good wishes |

My husbands grandfather was from the town of Dyrhaug,
Norway and when he came to America, he changed his last name to the
town name. Your landscape of "Trail to Dyrhaug" is quite
beautiful!! Since we have never been to Norway, thank you for showing
us your landscapes of Norway - your work is beautiful. |

My last name is Dyrhaug and am an ancestor of Dyrhaug's
from Dyrhaug Norway. I did a simple search on the internet for the
name and came across this painting. It mentions Trail to Dyrhaug and I
was wondering what this is a picture of or what it means.
Thank you |

Hi - Shirley sent me :-) I especially like the Nation's
Breadbasket watercolor, having grown up in central Illinois in the
middle of the corn fields. Nice work! |
